East Greenwich, RI: The Friends of the East Greenwich Free Library are hosting an informative lecture from Jim Buxton, a professor from URI and Salve Regina University, on Saturday, November 14th, 2015 at 1:00pm. Do you wonder why there is so much conflict in the Middle East? Was it always this way? What are the forces that produce constant upheaval in this troubled area? Jim Buxton will explain it all to us in this educational event, "An Introduction to the Arab World." Jim Buxton taught social studies at South Kingstown HS for 30 years, including many classes on the Middle East. He now teaches at URI and Salve Regina University. In 2011 he traveled on an educator's trip to Bahrain and Qatar. The Friends of East Greenwich Free Library are an all-volunteer organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing library services.
