East Greenwich's Fourth Annual Restaurant Week September 18-27
The East Greenwich Chamber of Commerce and SO Rhode Island Magazine have partnered to present East Greenwich’s 4th Annual Restaurant Week. Actually a ten day culinary celebration (September 18-27), the event will be once again supported and promoted through the East Greenwich Chamber of Commerce, Providence Monthly, SO Rhode Island, the South County Tourism Council and various media throughout the state. EG Restaurant Week is sponsored by Coastway Community Bank, SO Rhode Island, Dave’s Marketplace and JC Import.
According to Stephen M Lombardi, Executive Director of the EG Chamber, “The entire town is looking forward to our 4th Annual Restaurant Week. Last year’s edition of EG Restaurant Week was our biggest yet in terms of public awareness and interest, restaurant participation, and diners at our restaurants. We feel that East Greenwich is a dining destination and is a big part of what makes our town so special. Our restaurants and all of our merchants look forward to welcoming visitors from all over the region.”
“Most of our restaurants are locally owned,” said Lombardi. “For locally owned restaurants, 69 cents of every dollar stays in the local economy, versus 30 cents for a national chain. We encourage people to shop, buy and dine local because it is great for the local economy.”
Lombardi indicated there were close to thirty (30) participating restaurants in last year’s East Greenwich Restaurant Week. He expects to at least equal that number this year. Lombardi also added that the best way to find out about individual specials was to visit www.eastgreenwichchamber.com or contact the participating restaurants directly. Some of the participating restaurants include: B.Pinelli’s, Besos, Bistro 9, Chianti’s, Crosby’s Café, Dante’s Kitchen, DiMare Restaurant, Eleven Forty Nine, End Zone Pub & Grille, Finn’s Harborside, Fitzy’s Pub, Frank & John, Fresco, Greenwich Bay Gourmet, Greenwich Bay Oyster Bar, Jiggers, Kon, La Masseria, Main Street Coffee, Meritage, Norman’s Pub, Papa Franco, Providence Coal Fired Pizza, Raise the Bar Nutrition, Raku Sakura, RASA, Red Stripe, Richard’s Pub, Ritrovo, Siena Silver Spoon Bakery, T’s Restaurant, The Grille on Main, The Trap, Tio Mateos, Twisted Pizza.

East Greenwich Restaurant Week will have an official kickoff party on Thursday, September 17 at the East Greenwich Yacht Club. The Savor East Greenwich event will be from 5:30 to 8:30pm and will feature food samples from B Pinelli’s, Bistro Nine, Chianti’s, Dante’s Kitchen, Eleven Forty Nine, Finn’s Harborside, Fresco, Rasa, Red Stripe, and Silver Spoon. There will be live entertainment and a cash bar. Tickets will be $25 per person. Proceeds will benefit the East Greenwich Animal Protection League, and Supporting Our Servicemen Rhode Island (SOSRI).
